Third Millennium Campaign - Exeter Cathedral

Luscombe Maye at the Watermark centreSouth Devon harmony chorus The Kingsmen sang at the Watermark Centre in Ivybridge to raise money for Exeter Cathedral. Local firms, including Luscombe Maye, supported the event, attended by the Deputy Lord Lieutenants of Devon, Sir Ian Amory and Antony Mildmay-White. Roger Hayford, spokesman for The Kingsmen, said: "The Kingsmen were delighted to be asked to support this event. "It was a fabulous evening and we're proud to have helped raise many thousands of pounds for the appeal."

Choristers from the Cathedral’s own school were also performing.

The event raised essential funds for Exeter cathedral’s Third Millennium Campaign:

Exeter Cathedral is one of the oldest and most beautiful cathedrals in England. It has stood, in one form or another, for almost 1,000 years and is a testament to those who have worked and worshipped within the Cathedral throughout the centuries.

Exeter CathedralThe aim of the Third Millennium Campaign is to ensure that the Cathedral and its mission are sustained for the future. By preserving and conserving its past, as well as seeking new ways to enrich the experiences of all who visit the Cathedral, it is hoped that our descendents will get as much pleasure and spiritual comfort from it in years to come as we do today. The Third Millennium Campaign's aim is to make this possible by raising £8 million to support three appeals: music, fabric, and the library and archives.
