Bantham is a village in Devon, England. It is in the South Hams district and lies on the estuary of the River Avon quarter of a mile from the sea at Bigbury Bay.
Evans Estates (1956) Limited is the private, family-owned company that owns Bantham beach, as well as various properties in and around the village of Bantham and extensive areas of land on both sides of the Avon estuary. It is also responsible, among other things, for managing the Bantham harbour facilities.
The estate at Bantham has been in the same family for several generations. Their ethos has always been to allow Bantham to remain a place of outstanding beauty, with the village’s old thatched cottages portraying an image of unchanging charm and the beach and its surrounds staying as wild and natural as can be.

A sandy beach on the east side of the mouth of the South Devon Avon, the beach is backed with sand dunes and is popular with surfers young and old.
It houses Bantham Surfing Academy’s highly experienced and British Surfing Association qualified instructors provide professional tuition and coaching for beginners through to advanced levels in a safe and friendly environment on the the beautiful Bantham Beach near Bigbury in the South hams.
